2023 South Carolina Golden Gloves State Championship

Boxing at the Depot will host the 2023 South Carolina Golden Gloves Boxing State Championship on February 23rd, 24th, 25th. at The Memorial Arena at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium (385 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303). Golden Gloves has been contested in the Carolinas since 1934 and nationally since 1928. Boxers will compete for State Championship belts, All-State certificates signed by South Carolina Governor Henry Mc Master, and spots on South Carolina’s Elite High Performance Boxing Team. There will be three competition divisions for men and women: Elite Open (18-40 years old; 11+ prior USA Boxing bouts); Novice (18-40 years old; 0-10 prior USA Boxing bouts); and Masters (40+ years old). Winners of the Elite Open Division will join Team South Carolina and travel to Birmingham, Alabama to compete in the Southeast Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions against the champions from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The winner of the Southeast Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions will then compete in the Golden Gloves National Championship.

The Memorial Arena will seat approximately 1,600 spectators each night, and fans will be treated to live concerts and dance performances in addition to boxing competition. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster or at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium’s Box Office for $12 (General Admission), $22 (General Admission Floor), or $32 (Ringside). All proceeds from the event will go to the SC Golden Gloves 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, which currently offers a variety of free education programs developed by experts at Johns Hopkins University.
